The strap is compatible with both the front and rear wheel (front wheel is dependent on the mudguard design/clearance) and is designed to secure your bike without compressing the suspension while also preventing unnecessary damage to the paint and fairing. Securing the rear wheel prevents it from bouncing around during transportation which can lead to the front straps loosening and the bike falling over or off.
